I am looking for a good semi auto rifle that i can use to hunt pigs with. I'm not sure what type rifle i should get. I have hunted hogs with my .243 and my .30-06 and with both my .357 mag and .44 mag revolver, but with my bolt action rifles you can only throw out so much lead at so many pigs. I was looking at something like the Bushmaster Varminter, but have not made up my mind yet. Also I want to be able to put something like a red dot scope so that it can be used at night when we are seeing these pigs. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful.

Remington 7400 is a great gun, and you can get a extended magazine for it.

can you get a red dot type of "scope" for a AK?

as far as the scope goes, dont get a "red dot" the majority of them require u to have the dot in the center of the scope to be accurate! IMHO and what i have recently bought to put on my rifle, use a scope that has the cross hairs light up greeen or red! they arent expensive, i a lil more than the "red dots" but wellw orth it.

yes, you can mount any type of scope or sight on a AK.

I recently went hunting with my new toy, a ruger super blackhawk .44 mag hunter with a busnell scope at night and it was a buger trying to get the scope adjusted right... I am looking for something like a red dot or illuminated open sights... But i will certainly look into the illuminated crosshairs... I havent even looked at one like that yet

Maybe Red dot isnt what im actually concidering... I was thinking about getting something like the holographic EOTech sights.

I do all the hog hunting on my ranch with an AR15, 6.8mm SPC, using a scope with a lighted reticle. Works great in all light conditions and the lighted reticle makes it easy to get the crosshairs on 'em when there's very low light. Last week I killed three pigs with four quick shots (okay--I'm not perfect).

I grew up shooting a Rem 760 Gamemaster 270.

Get an AK or an AR10

With the prices of the AKs why not go alittle cheaper and get an SKS? Same bullet and I picked mine up a month ago for $275 in EXCELLENT condition All matching numbers.

I have a Bushmaster with an Eotech 552 for hog hunting. I think it is great for hog hunting and wouldn't trade it for anything!!

SKS oh yea I would like to mention I have for sale in the classifieds I have killed several piggys with it. Nothing better than throwing 30 rounds at a herd of piggys and after the dust settles seeing how many are laying there and already have a scope and high cap mags to go with.
