Can be electric, prefer solar, prefer cheap..... I'm dreaming of something like a sump pump, sprinkler, hoses, cord to either a battery or a converter/solar or ???

Neighbor down the road from us has a windmill aerator. No idea of the cost but I'm sure you could Google it.

Investigate pumping air, not water. It is more efficient at turning over the water column when you bubble air at the bottom.

My normal response: Fountains are like race horses and beauty contest winners. They are expensive, pretty to look at and don't do a lick of work.

Makes sense, a fountain would increase evaporation too.

I personally would opt for solar or wind powered over electrical. Just doing some Google searches, there seems to be some good options and not all that expensive.

x2
how far is pond from house/shop/electric? unless ground is rock, use subsoiler to quickly/easily lay hundreds of feet of cheap poly tubing (to carry AIR) from 110v electric air pump (koi pond type) at house to pond ...

Think a gas powered air compressor would work? Weigh down an opened end air hose and sink it?

Use air pump and diffusers from aerobic septic system.
