Well I built a few years back and have wanted one since I let it go. So I've started the parts sourcing process, just waiting on the rail and barrel but from Stngr and I'll have all of my parts. However this time around I wanted a side charger and that's when I discovered Sanders. I got a KE complete lower from Primary Arms on sale for $88.88, my upper will cost me about $450 once complete. It's a budget build but knowing me that will change, swapping the stock, grip and milspec FCG later on.

Done for now, I may change the grip and trigger later but overall I have about $600into the rifle build minus the optic.

That's sweet rig! I built one in X39 and it has become my "go to" gun for hogs.

Looks good. What barrel profile did you go with?

You ought to have fun with that, good looking rig. My 7.62x39 AR is my standard lease "ride around" gun in the off season.

Nice.
I have been considering a x39. What magazines are working well?

16" HBAR, this will be the 2nd one I've built so I don't expect any issues. Except I put an adjustable gas block on this one to attempt to use my suppressor with it. And thx everyone, I'm pleased with the way it turned out. And I've had the best success with the ASC mags on my first build so that's what I'll use for this one.

are you saying a7.62 will adapt on an AR lower 7.62x39, yes on an AR15 lower. 7.62x51 (308), no, not an AR15 lower.

And I couldn't pass on the $140 sale through DSG, I also decided to give the Elftmann push button style safety switch a try.

I like that safety might have to try one out.

After seeing this post I told myself I have to have one of them side charging receivers. So I went to Sanders Armory website and found a complete side charge upper that I thought looks real appealing. The price was also appealing for $318.00 so I bought one. I received it in the mail about 5 days later and it looked better in person so I was really pleased. I then slapped it on a lower today and took it shooting. It rained most of the day but I got a break for a bit and shot 30 rounds, 10 bursts each time using 122 gr. TulAmmo in a 30 round ProMag Magazine and it never missed a beat. So thanks Wall8053 for sharing the information.

So forgive the dumb question, but i assume the flash hider makes the total length 16inches and thus rifle legal? Thanks T

sorry -- that was for jared... the sanders website has an assembled model with 14.5 inch barrel and I assumed that the (included) flash hider would get you to the necessary 16inches but it wasn't spelled out on the site.

Talan2000 Yes that is the barrel I bought was the 14.5. Which means you will have to pin & weld a flash hider to make it legal. If not it would be considered a (Short Barreled Rifle). Hope that answered your question.
