On my way to where I was going to set up, I saw a Tom walking in a field. I thought I'd go ahead and try for him. I set up my decoys, a resting hen, alert hen and a strutting Tom. Called and hear a gobble. Worked him closers and then he popped up 80 yards away. He strutted the whole way in. My Tom decoy is on a remote, and spins when activated. I turned it on and that made the turkey mad. He beelined it to my Tom decoy. Right as he was about to attack, I shot him. 20 minutes into the season, and I got a dang nice bird on the ground.
How did y'all do this morning?
