Wylie Whitetails! I have resided in Collin County now for more than 20 years, and I have NEVER seen Whitetail deer anywhere near the Wylie area. At about 7pm on Sunday, 3/26, I was driving North on Parker Road just passing Park Blvd. and I see 3 Whitetail Does bounding across the road. They were heading Northeast towards Lake Lavon.

Yeah they are showing up in new area's each year...I see them over here in Frisco more often now. Heck I saw a doe at DNT and Spring Creek across from the new Park Place dealership two summers ago!

I saw a bruiser about 8 years ago or so across from Cowboys driving range off Fairway Dr. on Gaylord's brushline near the marina, was a cold Thanksgiving late morning, 11:00AM or so and he was cruising. I rolled down the window and "meeeh'd" him to a stop. I kid you not, that dude was probably 10-12 points and in the 140-150" class.

I've seen them around Wylie for the last 10 years, although not very often. 2 years ago saw a young buck chasing a doe in the field across from 7-11 on country club and 544. Saw a doe last week just south of Mckinney Airport in the Fairview area. I've seen hogs, coyotes and other wildlife. One of the Wylie city guy's told me there are some turkey just outside the city limits. I'd love to see more wildlife around here.

In 2002 from Wylie high school we watched 2 bucks and 3 doe in the field next to the Party Barn. I drove up on 3 pigs when I went to the Marina at Anchor Bay last weekend as well. I think all the construction that is going on is pushing them around.

I saw two deer in the greenbelt off 30 in between beltline and northwest a few years ago in Mesquite. Blew my mind.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

They are all over inside Loop 820 in Fort Worth, don't go to the far east much so I can't speak for the Dallas crowd.

Historically, no in Dallas county over the last 100 years or so. Most of the old school farmers thought wt deer were a nuisance and many were hunted/killed to near non-existent levels. Growing up in the 1980's, you really had to go south down 35 to the Waco area maybe even Killeen before finding wt deer. Down 45 to at least Freestone/Leon county area. They have really exploded over the last 15 years or so here in North Texas. Area's that never held deer are now holding deer. Tarrant county always has had and still has more deer by far.

Our home in northeast Richardson is about 500 yards from Rowlett creek. I know there are at least a few deer down there. Perfect habitat, deep woods, still some open floodplain that can't be built upon, thank goodness. Also below Lavon dam and upper reaches of Ray hubbard have had deer for years.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

Had a buddy see 3 doe crossing lake Lavon a couple years ago when it was all dried up while driving down the 380 bridge. My other buddy has seen a few deer out in the fields of Nevada, Tx a few times.

Always hear reports of deer around White Rock Lake in Dallas. In 2010 they had to pull this young 6 point out of the fence by the lake.
