I recently purchased a Barrett 6.8 rifle to deer/hog hunt.I really like the leupold patrol scope. Has anyone used this scope for night hog hunting? Would purchasing a photon night vision scope be a better option for day/night hunting? Thanks in advance!

Photon isn't very good during the day - full sun plays heck with image specific to light skin in full sun and dark skin in shadows -

When the sun goes down a Photon with supplemental IR is awesome for the price so long as your not trying to peer into wooded areas or hunt high grass

I've got a VX-R 2-7 I use at night in conjunction with a XLR 250 Kill Light. It works well.

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

PP is correct. I put a Quick disconnect mount on my photon to make it easier to move things around.

I would recommend an ATN X-Sight, if they worked like they're supposed to and if they didn't have the most incompetent prostaff imaginable.
