QAD HDX, Ripcord Code red or Ace are all proven good rests. I prefer cable drive instead of limb drive but that is just my preference.

I just got my LX back that I traded in back in 2005 and the Trophy Ridge Dropzone rest still works perfect. But if I was to ever upgrade then I would go with a QAD drop away rest. The archery shop I trust and go to sells a ton of them and I noticed that everybody at their indoor range had one on their bow. Plus the guys at my archery club also use the QAD rests and they all hunt so they must be a great all around rest.

Biggest difference between a QAD and a Ripcord you will notice functionally wise is when you draw the QAD back without the fork being locked back already and lower it without shooting the fork will remain upright, on a Ripcord it will lower down. Now if you lock the fork up like most of us do for hunting both will stay locked back if you draw and letdown the bow without shooting. Both those have models with lifetime warranties and good customer service.
Trophy Ridge revolution rest also works well and is a captive rest.
The ones above are the ones I would go with if on a hunting bow. For target there are others I would consider some from trophy ridge and NAP but for the hunter they are not as much of a captive rest which I like for hunting so the arrow cannot fall off or out of the rest.

I'm getting the Ripcord Ace for my next release after seeing a lot of hunters using it.

I have been using QAD HDX since 2012. I have tried Ripcord and Trophy Taker also in this time but always went back to QAD. I just prefer them.

Just too much mass on the LDPV for my taste. That said I haven't shot anything but my Black Widow recurve since I filled my last buck tag in early January so . . .

I shot a QAD HD for several years with the only issue being that my fletching would strike the bar. QAD addressed that issue with the HDX by adding the curved bar.
I switched this past yr to the RipCord Ace. My bow guy set me up and let me try it for a few wks with the guarantee that I could switch back to the HDX no questions asked if I wanted to. He even fixed me up with the in store demo model so it saved me some cash. I can honestly say that the RipCord Ace is a far better rest than the HD. Im not saying that it is better than the HDX as I haven't shot one enough to say that.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.
