They both have their strong points, no reason to dog one or the other.
In business it's usually not good to put your competitor down publicly, its just not professional.
It's super easy to edit a video and make one look better than the other. Plus the ATN has onboard recording. Not as much loss of signal in the lines into a stand alone recorder, like the pulsar. Comparing solely on recorded image isn't exactly fair on any nv or thermal unit. Take an IRD product for example, they look awesome in person but the dvr recordings look pretty awful.
Disclaimer: in my side business I am a dealer for both ATN and Pulsar plus others.

Tsk Tsk Tsk Shame on you Sachal. There are a few people on here that know first hand the Pulsar is capable of a much better image than you posted here. If you going to post a comparison at least do it with some dignity and honesty.
And yes I am ProStaff for Pulsar.
Bob Abbott haha. I wouldnt expect anything different from you. Your comments and credibility are meaningless.

I posted about this on Facebook as weLLC. Just because they are on "default" settings out of the box, doesn't make it a good comparison. Not our video but as you can see the video quality isnt that much better even after adjustments. Plus arent you a prostaff for Pulsar? I just joined the Pulsar staff, but not before trying no less than 5 different x-sights. I joined them because they're product proved to be the best that I could afford and I've been very happy with. I bought my own equipment and tested before joining. I wouldn't promote something I haven't tested and approve of. Well I have played with many Pulsar and Flir's unit, in fact compared the two with our thermal at the SCI show last week in front of a crowd and without a doubt, our image quality and overall performance was the best.

Haters are going to say even this reseller is manipulating the results Ultimate Night Vision ThOR HD vs Pulsar Comparison This all started due to someone posting a video comparing our thermals with Pulsar where they didnt even calibrate our scope and focus the image. I wonder who that was...fr3db3ar or Deereguy??? Hmmm...

I only want to add that I'm not a hater. Some of the videos I've seen for xsight and the Thor HD have looked great. I didn't have any luck with any of the xsights I tried, others love them.
My only concern was that the video comparison appeared to be unfair.

Using the THOR HD 384 2-8x myself I love it for the price. the only downside is having to NUC the unit almost every time it sits for a while to get the best picture. Overall its good.

Sachal, I must say I find it interesting that you went from late May of last year with your last post on the Thor HD until Feb.8 this week without a single post or update on this unit. Now finally you are comparing it to a scope that is being discontinued for a newer model from Pulsar, and knocking several people who I know to call a spade a spade regardless of who made it. Oh! and I'm not a representative for anyone, just an observation.

Second, if you are talking about a scope that is being discontinued, fair enough. When the new scope comes out, like I have said before, we will do the comparison with it. But at the moment the new scope is not for sale but guess what I have seen the new scope, played with it @ Shot show and even with the new core, our scope would stack up quite well.

May I suggest then your next video you take the time and show the adjustments to both scopes to obtain the best image, then do your comparison ? I myself would like to know that info before I buy a complex piece of equipment.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but after seeing how ATN screwed over everyone that bought a problem plagued X-Sight,you couldn't give me an ATN product. It should be a criminal offense for a company to sell a product that doesn't work 100% to the public. It's not the consumers job to do your R&D work for your products.

The video is a horrible comparison video and unprofessional. That aside, I would say that acquiring and using a digisight adapter to image through the eyepiece is a better way (more accurate) to show people what they can expect concerning the performance of the scope. Some scopes offer a better video output than others and that is a point in their favor, but a good many folks don't record, thus the image through the eyepiece is more important to most folks. Further, you must want an honest comparison and properly "tune" each product. A manufacturer should never publicly do this sort of thing. It makes you look bad.
I am not Pulsar Prostaff, but I have both ATN and Pulsar products. My ATN Thor (the original, not HD) has been flawless. I own two ATN thermal monocs. Both have been reliable, but the piece that holds the eyecup on the eyepiece came loose on one of them one night and got lost. ATN would not sell me a replacement. Said they didn't stock them and would have to take one off of a new one. Honest experience. I also had a terrible experience with the X-Sight and because of the companies handling of it, I will never buy another product from them again, period. Any issue I ever had with Pulsar or Sightmark products was taken care of immediately.
I do not own a Thor HD, but have used one. The image wasn't bad, but I noticed something that others have noticed. It has the same issue that the X-Sight had when you move the scope at a higher rate as in tracking a running hog. The top part of the screen lags, sorta sways rearward and catches up when you stop. Don't know if it has been corrected, but the problem has existed in both products making me think it is something inherent that is somehow common to both.

I own a Gen I Thor and a Pulsar XD50A and am not ProStaff for anyone... The Pulsar video being held up as the compare sure is pretty washed out looking vs other examples you can find on YouTube and my personal experience. Even with that said, our display is higher resolution vs Pulsar and our software is extremely buggy, much buggier than Pulsar. Our display is a 1280x720 whereas Pulsar's is 640x480 Fixed.

Dear Sachal, Being a manufacturer we do make the same comparing videos for inner circle but we do not publically discuss or post it. Sure I can share it with some close to us guys privately. Nevertheless you won't find that video in open source. I believe it a question of good manners. Isn't it?
Sincerely, Founder

aren't you a prostaff for atn? I believe he is just a fanboy wannabe Yep, he was a small time ATN dealer, may still be. He's only been hunting for a couple of years and about half that he's played with night toys to some extent. I'd have to look back at his previous posts to get the timing closer. Using the THOR HD 384 2-8x myself I love it for the price. the only downside is having to NUC the unit almost every time it sits for a while to get the best picture. This says a lot about his experience with thermal. You have to NUC all manual thermals at intervals. It's not a downside of that particular product. That is just the way it is with the modality. In my experience, every automatically NUCing thermal waits too long between NUC's and you end up manually NUCing anyway.
