My biggest buck to date is a 130 8pt, so I'm certainly no expert on anything.
I don't think I'd know what to do with one of those massive bodies panhandled bucks.

Are these all photos of the same deer because your narrative makes it sound as if the first two photos are of the deer you targeted but didn't shoot?

congrats. why have an approved 8 point? He's not "approved" as in individual deer. Just meant that I re-assured my friend he was old enough to take per our plan (4.5yo for 8's). Are these all photos of the same deer because your narrative makes it sound as if the first two photos are of the deer you targeted but didn't shoot? No, the top two are of a different buck, one we had around for a while. But, J ended up taking a different 8-pt.

I don't think some of the posters here understood that.

Your ranch management sounds like a nightmare and takes the fun all out of it. Sounds like to me your buddy never pulled the trigger bc he didn't want hear about it back at camp. Not to mention, y'all are saving "4.5" cull bucks for him and waiting for that big 6.5 . Seems a little selfish.. But what do I know, I'm sure y'all are having a blast.

Sounds like it. With all those rules and "mature bucks" y'all are taking each year.. I mean it sounds like your operation is one you can just go out there and let your hair down and hunt. No one breathing down your neck every time you take your gun off safety. Btw that deer ain't 4.5 and he sure as heck ain't 5.5 lol. Get your eyes checked. They have gone bad watching all those great Aggie games this year
