My son and I were headed to panhandle to hunt the day after Christmas and somehow my clothing bag with all my hunting clothes flew out of the back of my pickup somewhere between Decatur and 10 miles north of Bowie. I made a couple of circle backs to Decatur and traced route with no luck. Someone had to have seen the bag fly out as there was a lot of traffic that day. It was in a brand new extra large Cabelas waterproof bag. The bag is tan in color and has Cabelas written on the side in big letters. I wear 3 XL clothes. My expensive bibs and jacket was in there along with a pile of other hunting clothes. Bag had to weigh over 60 lbs. I estimate the value of clothes lost to be over $3000.00. Please spread the word and see if someone is looking to return them. My cell is 903-413-4255. Thank you everyone.

Bummer hope you find them. But how does a 60lb bag of clothes fly out of the bed of a pickup truck unless it is ontop of something higher than the tailgate? Did you stop anywhere (gas etc) where someone might have taken it? Again I hope you get your stuff back!

Best of luck finding your gear. Losing my hunting clothes would drive me mad and cost me some $$$. I curious to know how it fell out of the bed of your pickup?

Well, I had my bag sitting on top of my sons tote in the middle of the bed of my long bed truck. it was not above the edge of the bed. I only stopped once and that was in Denton to meet a person to drop off a gift. I never left the side of my truck then and watched the straps flap in wind as we went on down the road. I am almost 100% certain it was still in there when we went through Denton. There was tons of traffic that day. My theory is when I passed a Semi it sucked it out of the bed.

Does Decatur have a paper, could you run an ad?

But how does a 60lb bag of clothes fly out of the bed of a pickup truck unless it is ontop of something higher than the tailgate? I had brand new, king size mattress literally lift up and fly out of the bed of my truck once. I didn't think it would move an inch and only had one strap on it and wasn't going very far. Don't have a clue how the strap came undone/mattress got out from under the strap, but it was like a kite. Up and gone in 3 seconds.

Did you check with DPS? It could have been turned in.

^ This. You never know. Last year I found a very nice soft tackle bag loaded with new lures, line, several nice knives, etc. Turned it over to the SO.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Law enforcement and TX Dot are on the lookout. I imagine someone saw it fly out and picked it up. Probably threw away the clothes if they were little people and kept the bag.
