Hopefully you guys wont mind helping me out . What is needed to get into reloading my own rounds. I shoot 308 , 40 , and soon hopefully 6.5 cm or 338 lapua.

I am a beginner too and I started with a hornady lock n load starter kit. U can definitely get things later to make it easier but what I thought u was really helpful in additions to the kit was a bullet comparator set, headspace gauge set and trimmer. There were a bunch of other things I ended up getting to make things easier, t but the kit and items mentioned was plenty to get me going.

Way back in the olden days, I started out with a basic RCBS kit. Any of the 'starter' kits is a good first step. Get die sets for the calibers you have to start with as well as SEVERAL reloading manuals.
Before you ever open the starter kit box, READ THE MANUALS! There is a wealth of knowledge in them. Lyman's #49 is a good generic one to grab as well as some from the various bullet manufacturers. ( I like Sierra's manual as well as Nosler and Speer.)

I'll agree here. The Lock n Load kit is a fantastic deal, and Hornady really does make quality stuff. I've loaded 10k rounds (mostly 9mm) on my LnL classic press in the last year, and I don't have a single complaint.

If you're doing mostly rifle, do make sure to invest in the stuff KR mentioned. The bullet comparator and trimmer are especially important.

Read several manuals BEFORE you order ANYTHING. Get a grasp on the process and then come back here and clear up any confusion or questions you may have. Then browse some other sites and read threads in their reloading sections. Save your money by buying exactly what you need the first time and not wasting money by buying stuff you don't. Yes, it will take a couple of days or even a couple of weeks. But in the long run it's worth it.

I really like my Lee Classic Turret. If you want to go slow and verify every step, then you can do that. If you want to crank out a few hundred rounds that are all the same, then you can do that too. I didn't go with a kit - they all seem to either cheap out on the scale or include a bunch of stuff you may never use. It's easy to find a great deal on a lightly used, high quality scale.

Yup. Still use my Lee Classic Turret and love it.

Got one on my bench as well. Good press for the money and the turret plates are cheap, as are the covers for them.

As Creedmoor mentioned, buy a reloading book FIRST!

I started and still have my lee classic turret press. I started out loading for my pistols, it allowed me to get comfortable with the reloading process before proceeding to rifle reloading. As someone else mentioned the classic turret allowed me to go slow at first and verify every step, I was eventually able to speed things up as my understanding progressed.

I still use my lee classic turret for FL sizing (using bushing dies) and depriming my rifle cases, but I use an arbor press and wilson hand dies to seat my bullets. Eventually I would like to get a Froster press, but it's really not needed.

The reloading process is somewhat daunting at first, take it slow, check and double check (especially in the beginning), stay within published limits and you'll be fine.

I'll second the recommendation for the Lyman manual too. Get it now and start reading while you gather equipment, and add manuals from bullet companies when you start trying their bullets.

I have several presses but my Lee Classic Turret gets the most use. I love it.

I'd also recommend finding an experienced reloader to learn from on at least your first few attempts.

I agree, when I first started I had a neighbor come over and give me pointers, it made the initial process so much smoother. I don't know too many reloaders who don't like talking about how to reload, so you should be able to find someone who would be willing to help you get started

Was super cheap for all those and I have made some pretty acurate ammo.

Takes me about an hour to do 20 shells but it's cheap and I'm learning.

In a few years I'll get better stuff. I just didn't want to spend much at first if I might not like doing it.
