I live nearby and was thinking about going to try to get a stand by spot, but the weather forecast made me decide against it. As far as the hunting goes I have never hunted there, but since the big fire the underbrush has rebounded in the area. Should be prime deer habitat. That part of the county has quite a few deer. The success rate for that hunt is pretty good. Good luck!

My son was drawn and hunted there two years ago, first year they reopened hunts after the fire. A lot, and I mean A LOT of undergrowth, you have to find a spot where you can see over it. You draw for a compartment and can set up anywhere in the compartment. Find high ground in your compartment were you can watch some of the many, many game trails. We scouted our area for about 2 hours before finding our setup area. Take a popup blind and a lot of corn. Find your spot, corn heavily and wait them out. We saw deer every morning/evening.
