 lightweight threaded 7mm08 rifle project!

Got my little project put together just in time for a week of hunting. Unfortunately, no monsters stepped out but we had a great time and got pig and deer for the family. Took a stainless Savage lightweight hunter stock rifle and did the following: Replaced the barrel with a McGowen 17" light profile threaded barrel Cerakote barrel and action in FDE Dropped in a McMillan A3 Sporter stock with the Edge fill in desert camo, I REALLY like the feel of this stock. Talley lightweights and a LHRS 3-12 Ran into a small snag with the bottom metal and have a replacement CDI Precision one piece coming. Really like how the rifle turned out. Feels balanced even with the can on it. (Crux ti)

Awesome rifle! I'm guessing that's a after market bolt as well? I wanting to do something similar in 243 and 6.5. Short, lightweight and suppressed. I wont have the budget you had for that one though.

Stock bolt..
One of reasons I picked that rifle as a base..
the action is hogged out a bit as well

I like the idea of the short, lightweight, suppressed rifle. Looks great.

Well done sir! The more I shoot the 7-08 the more I love it. A week from today mine will (hopefully) be brain stemming whitetail does.

Nice rifle! I'm also doing 7-08 with a Tikka and cutting the factory barrel down to 18" and a SiCo Havester.

Nice rig! I just did a light weight 7mm-08 as well. How's the recoil on yours?
Mine isn't too bad, the Limbsaver recoil pad makes it so much better. I was thinking about getting an after market stock too.

I think I'm going with a bushnell lrhs for my lightweight build also. I really like the way it's made and hear the glass is really nice in them too. What height rings did you use ?
