I don't believe this was his first antlers. He is too big a bodied for this. If he was born late as some have suggested he would look way more immature. I in all my infinite wisdom put this Deer at 2.5 years old. im not understanding the 1.5 born late scenario either, that would make him 1 year old, damn near a fawn. seems people look at horns to judge age and not body size. body size is everything on a buck to judge age, up until about 5.5 after that i have a hard time telling if hes 5.5 or 6.5 or 7.5, i just know hes damn sure mature. a 1.5 is a yearling, that deer is in no way a yearling

2.5 a 1.5 year old is always smaller than a doe 2.5 they are about the size of a doe, 3.5 they are noticeably bigger than a doe This is kinda a silly statement without knowing the age of the doe.

I'd love to see the jawbones of all these mythical 2.5 year old spikes.

1.5 2.5 old spikes might not be mythical, but they are rare

Im speaking of mature does i dont care if your in canada and your mature does are 200lbs your 2.5 year old bucks will be the size of you mature does BS a healthy buck that is 2.5 will be bigger than 99% of mature does. I look at hundreds of both every year. As far a the deer in the picture it is 1.5 and not a very big deer. Trying to compare it to a doe in a separate photo is impossible.
