I frickin hate thieves. Hope the perps drown in a vat of liquid Drano, and your friend gets all of his firearms back. Time to start checking pawnshops.
He is your friend defender your dog. Be worthy of such devotion

Its good that he had the serial numbers, at least they can be entered into NCIC as stolen, which is a nation wide database. Like was mentioned, start looking at pawn shops.

I would start monitoring Texas Gun Trader private sales. If one of the guns shows up, contact local police.

I bet some start turning up around the metroplex. That suppressor will the the interesting part since its an NFA item. I bet somebody gets nailed.
I take pictures of all my guns and other valuables including serial numbers and markings and such for this very reason.

sorry to hear of this. thieves should be buried DEEP.
i see at least 5 on the list with no serial number. is that an intentional omission ? i hope so. if you don't bother to record the serial numbers of your firearms you've given them away and likely won't see them again. i have 2 written lists in 2 different places and a usb memory with every minute detail i can write down and photos, but i still haven't got my one stolen gun back.

Hope your friend gets his guns back. I had five rifles stolen in April, 2014. Posted complete descriptions, serial numbers, etc. on here and TFF. Watched all the various websites and never found any of them. In August of this year I got a PM from a THF member telling me he remembered my post and saw a rifle in a pawn shop here in town that matched one of my serial numbers. I called HPD and met one of their officers at the pawn shop. The rest is history. I went to court for a property hearing two weeks ago and got my rifle back.
So don't give up hope. The judge told me they had recovered and returned to the heir of the original owner one that was stolen in 1952. The Sergeant Detective on my case said she had just called a guy that morning to tell him that his gun stolen in 1979 had been recovered.
For those wondering, there are all kinds of ways for pawn shops to get around the requirement that they check the TCIC/NCIC to make sure a gun isn't stolen. Mine was in the system, but there it was, on the shelf of a pawn shop. And not a darned thing happened to the pawn shop nor the guy who fenced my rifle.

Maybe not criminally... but I bet that pawn shop wasn't too happy about being out whatever cash they dolled out to the scumbag for that rifle.

Possible that the fence and the pawn shop owner are in cahoots together...he takes them on commission. If the fece's hits the oscillator, the pawn shop owner isn't out anything, just the fence.

Yeah, was interesting to find out the fence had a pawn record a mile long, but no criminal record. Not even a speeding ticket. I asked the Sergeant how come they didn't try and squeeze the fence in order to back track. They said the guy is obviously a pro and will claim he bought the gun from some guy he didn't know and had no idea it was stolen. Then the pawn shop says "we checked the serial number against TCIC and it didn't come up as stolen". What they don't tell you is they entered the data incorrectly by transposing a number or letter in the SN#. It's certainly a racket. The thieves, the fence and the pawn shop know HPD and our DA have way more crime to worry about than simple auto and home burglaries. I was told by the detective that they DA won't file on the crook unless HPD catches him with the goods within 24-48 hours. I've been told differently by a couple other LEO friends but, based on my own experience, I'm betting very few of these types of cases are filed on. And I'm talking almost $50k in rifles and optics I had stolen.

Wish him the best recovering them.
I'm curious, did he have the safe bolted to the foundation?

I'm curious, did he have the safe bolted to the foundation? I believe so. The pipe fence gates were ripped off as well so They probably had a fairly large pickup and a chain.

Pawnshops should be held accountable on possession of stolen prop yes they should be, but never are. i found my own 1911 one time while looking for tools. the police swore that the pawn shop detail officers had combed the area, and my gun was nowhere to found. common sense tells you that anyone wouldn't sell a .45 for $35.00 even if they were extremely hard up. when you're able to buy one for that you know it's stolen no question.

Pawnshops should be held accountable on possession of stolen prop Why? They have no way of identifying stolen goods just like a buyer on Craigslist.

What brand of safe was stolen? There is a redhead on Houston Craigslist someone is trying to get open after the keypad was removed.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.
