My son says he is embarrassed of my old decoys. What brand would you fowlers recommend buying him?

Avian X? G&H?

x2. love mine. I especially like the mallards, pintails, and canvasback. They look great, and paint holds up well.

G&H unless you are walking in a long ways. I had some for years, after I sold my boat, I sold my G&H weighted keels.

Not sure how long the avian x hold up, but I like the looks of them.

Let the sand out, they make great walk-in deeks. Extremely light!! First set I bought I let the sand out for walkin deeks.

The answer depends on your budget. If you stood all the brands up and let folks pick out what they wanted...for free, Avian X and Dakota would dominate. But now ask them same folks to fork out the bread and pay for them. All other brands come into play. G&H like mentioned above is a very good brand for the money.

I have Avian X and for 3 years now they look just like they did the day I got them. I even shot one once thinking it was a duck. It still going strong.

Dakotas and avian x's! Those flocked mallards are on a different level! And if y'all have t seen the Avian X's new flocked mallards, you should look into them! So realistic!

G&H are the Joey Jobes of plastics. Not painted like a mount from avian arts, but painted good and the paint holds. ( I know that Jobes comparison just kills Wal )

I like the avian x or higdons. Though it doesn't really matter, I'm a stickler for having different positioned decoys

I'm slowly transitioning to Avian X and putting them all in slotted bags to try and maintain the paint on them. I was die hard GHG for much longer than I should have been after dealing with their terrible quality for about the last 8 years. I can't count the amount of GHG I personally have seen come out of the box brand new and start sinking from a crack in the seam. G&H is obviously the most durable decoy but if your son doesn't like your old decoys he definitely will not like the G&H.

GHG does make the best field/full body decoys in my opinion but that's because they can't sink if they are in a dry field... roflmao

I can say this about G&H, their customer service is first class... I bought a couple dozen of their super mag mallards a few years ago... 3rd trip and the paint started coming off... I called and they replaced all of them at no charge.. the avian x and dakotas look real... avian x gadwall and black ducks look scary real on the water. The Dakota gw teal and mallards are sick.

G & H are solid decoys for the price. Above that, you may want to check out Final Approach. They are expensive, but if you qualify for the an account with https://www.experticity.com/, you can get them at 50% off retail so may want to check it out.

Well it was one of those mornings. Ducks landing in you spread before shooting time. No matter how great my Avian X decoys look...real ducks eventually start to figure things out...and start swimming out of gun shot range bang But I looks down at my phone....its killing time!!! I see's me a duck where i last saw the real one...its oozing back and forth so puuuuurty. I tells myself self, if ever a time to water-squat a duck...its NOW...before its swims behind those trees. The Beneli goes BOOOM!! and that dam duck just sits there...still looking so puuuurty.

Its weird I've had the exact opposite experience as most.

Most Durable:
1. G&H by far
2. Flambeau
3. GHG

Most realistic:
1. GHG/G&H
10. Flambeau

Most Resilient Paint
1. Flambeau
2. GHG
10. G&H

I've had really bad luck with the paint chipping on my G&H decoys, and really good luck with my GHG decoys. Haven't bought decoys in a decade though, so no clue what quality is out there now a days.
