Got to hunt with my trusty partner, Charlie. My newest Weatherby recorded it's first kill, a big doe Saturday morning. And then, like that .257 Weatherby hit that doe, the flu hit me. I headed home Sunday morning, dropped the doe Granzin''s in New Braunfels. Been holed up in bed ever since.

That's her on the ground beyond the feeder. 150 yards through the chest. She rared up on her hind legs and did a back flip. Hit the ground dead and never budged.


Entry is on the left, exit right. .257 Weatherby Mag using Weatherby Ammo 100g Spitzer. There was no exit wound. Bullet must have trapped between the ribs and right shoulder. I never got to find out because of the flu.

That W'by in .257 is a sweet gun. Hope you are feeling better LP

I would have expected a Ear Hole on a Doe

I'm on a cocktail of meds from the doctor and getting better each day. Man, I've had some jacked up dreams/hallucinations on this stuff. Hoping I'll be back in the saddle by Sunday. I've got off all next week and plan to be back at camp.

It was that damned ol' Evan Williams on Friday night. I looked around for him Saturday morning. Was gonna kick the carp out of him, but he done split.

Easy RAB, can't earhole the first one. You gotta ease into it.

I'll use the 110 Accubonds on the next one though. I like pass-thru and lots of blood, especially in the brush.

110 accubonds are killer. 257 is my main deer gun and last year a stag walked out. Complete pass through and the stag went about 20 yards.

That's awesome my go to gun. Absolutely love it. Nothing walks away from it with the 110 accubond.

I'm actually right handed but left eye dominate so I've shot left handed most of my life. Now my oldest grandson is a full blown southpaw!
