Opening weekend was cold and wet... hunted south of Sunray, seen plenty of birds just very terrible shooting both days from our small group(8). Ended the weekend with 10 roosters and 18 quail. Friday, 12-9, cut out of work early with 2 buddies and hammered em! Hunted north of Sunray, shot our 12 birds in about 3 hours. Saturday, 12-10, hunted east of Stratford and shot the only rooster and one quail of about a 15 bird covey. Hot and windy. Ellie will be turning 10 in February, but can still out run any dog in the field!

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Glad to hear pheasants are coming back in the panhandle. Congrats.
Don't talk the talk if you didn't walk the walk.

Just got back from Hart today. Not a whole lot of birds there. 2 guys with 1 dog, we ended up with 4 roosters, and 2 quail.

Hunted a short day Friday and killed three birds between two of us, and let plenty of them get away. Went out Saturday again and hunted hard all day and we killed five. Ended up being a great weekend, as we were working pups and had great dog work! Think every bird was shot off of a point except two maybe, and the pups retrieved everyone to hand like seasoned pros! Pretty happy with how they did for their first and second time out!

Another afternoon hunt.... still seeing a lot of birds. 4 roosters and 1 yote in the bag. Black dog is a first year rookie and my silver dog is on her 9th season. Someone needs to tell me how to rotate pics cause I cannot figure it out.
