Has anyone checked into leasing lumber company land in Louisiana? I can't afford to lease in Texas anymore.

First lease I was on was with the paper company.
Prices are about the same as in East Texas.
What part of Louisiana are you looking into?

I don't know. I would like to find a place that has plenty of deer, doesn't have to be all that big (maybe a couple hundred acres)and maybe from Alexandria south. There is three of us and two of us are in our late 60s with a few health problems.

Granted it has been a number of years, but Louisiana deer hunting is no tags, limit 1 per day. Those guys around Jena were basically "if it's Brown, it's down" mentality. Nothing ever reached maturity. 1.5 yr old 6 pointers were practically a trophy.
