Do aoudad roam free south east of Lubbock ? My sister owns a lot of land out that way and we are trying to find out if they roam north of Post on the cap rock ?

They've moved as far south as Howard County, Ben Miller and Frank Beavers own large ranches south of Post and they have a ton of Aoudad. leased a place that was split by I-20 and took 3 rams off of it. We have Aoudad on the big ranch and we're south of I-20.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

There are a lot around Fluvanna along the cap with all the windmills, which is SE of Post. I've seen several large herds out there. I saw one many years ago in the NW corner of Fisher county along the fork of the Brazos river up there.

Don't know how far south they range but they are thick as ticks in Edwards County. Wish they'd stay north.

Do aoudad roam free south east of Lubbock ? My sister owns a lot of land out that way and we are trying to find out if they roam north of Post on the cap rock ? Just got back from hunting a few miles SE of Post on the OS on Monday. They stay right on the caprock. Saw 5 males in 5 minutes of being there with one being a nice trophy. They can sense you a mile away it seems. We weren't hunting them but it would be a very challenging hunt if you had never done it before. Need a good spotting scope or binos to find them first hanging out just below the rim and then figure out how to get to them before they know you are there. How far north of 380 is it? There are plenty just south of 380 on the caprock.

It really just depends on the location in the area around post. North might be hit or miss but there are lots of them in Garza county.
