Any of you duck hunters have experience with the Versa Max? I wanted a left handed Beretta 400 Extreme but can't swing for that much. The Black Synthetic Versa Max is about $700 less.
Give me some feedback please?

If you can swing a the 250 more get the beretta A350. Remington is crap and they had issues with that gun. Or if you can't swing it get a Stoger 3500.

I think my VersaMax rocks, particularly given what they cost. Never missed a beat.

Shoots all loads flawlessly. Does well w 3.5 too. I flip mine every few years. Pm me if you want a 2 year old used camo gun. I typically sell them on here and buy new

I ordered a left handed one tonight in black. On sale through Davidsons. Gave $1200 taxes shipping and all. I have owned them all and found if you keep them clean they will all function right. Hope I like this one.

worn out narrative huh.... right. my buddy bought a brand new versa max last year, our 3rd hunt at texoma in the sand and it already experienced issues ejecting shells, and guess what didn't, my beretta A400 xtreme. if you aren't hunting nasty conditions then any gun will work for you, but if you're in the junk go with something that will cycle no matter what. theres a reason the versa max's price has dropped significantly since its introduction. Do i hate remington? absolutely not, i love my old 1100 and my remington 700 deer rifle, but when it comes down to it, the inertia driven system of the benelli and the system of the beretta A400 xtreme is unbeatable in my opinion. Just have to decide if you want to pay less and clean the gun after every single time you use it or pay a little more and clean it once every season.... either one patterns well and will kill any bird that comes in front of it.

I agree but I'd add the new A5 to that list. My good friend also shoots a SX3 and has put that gun through the gauntlet and it's still tickin.

Durn. I didn't mean to start a war. I don't hunt swamps so maybe my new Versa Max lemon gun will be okay.

If you want a remington buy the new V3 I won one in a raffle and it has held up really nice. This yr I've duck and goose hunted in ND, SD, MN, IA, MO, west TX and on the TX coast. For the money it's a good gun. I doubt these guys have hunted any tougher conditions than I have this yr. From -5 to standing in the marsh and dropping my gun under water. Only time will tell if it holds up.
If it bleeds I can KILL IT

Versa Max came in today. I threw it up and it felt like a long lost friend. I grew up shooting Remingtons. I was happy to see the disassembly is pretty much the same as it has always been. The 2 gas ports are different but actually easier than the old way. I can't wait until Saturday to put it through it's paces and break it in right and pattern it. Perfect balance and perfect alignment right out of the box. Pleased so far.

I can't stand Remington's- probably own dozen Beretta OU, SxS, gas guns. 20's and 12s- that damn versamax has been most versatile of them all. Love 391 Berettas- 400's are crap. I have asked one of the best in the world- sporting clays local- some of u know who he is. Totally agrees.
Versamax cycles everything. I have had issues w SBEII, and beretta springs pretty quickly (1 season) if you shoot 3 and 3.5inch. Have read articles on how 3 inch pattern better for ducks. This year when I hunt big water, or cover is quite a distance away- I want my ducks stone dead. Many times my dekes are 30-40 yards out. 3.5 stone them dead- I throw a 3.5 first shot, 3 inch second and 3rd.
