Anyone had any experience with a 1911 style pistol in 9mm? I want to compete in shoots and feel the 45cal. recoil and ammunition price is a disadvantage to a 9mm. I have a Glock M34 but like the feel of a 1911. Any experience and or thoughts?

Try a 38 Super....You can use +P loads and make major calibre points where the 9mm is usually a minor calibre.

Friend of mine has a Kimber 1911 model in 9mm, It shoots real nice.

As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind...Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks--Thomas Jefferson

I have a 1911 in 9mm from STI. It is the Trojan model. I love it.

I have seen 1911 comp shooters load down 45acp to make the recoil nil.
