Downside: The elk is now deaf in his right ear.
Upside: He did not get consumed alive by coyotes while trapped and gets to live.
Call it a win.

That elk has entered the concussion protocol and will not be available for hunting until week 6 of the season.
(Cool thing that guy did. Happy to see him and the elk walk away)
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.

I must have missed something on the video. I only saw one shot. No sound on my 'puter. My bad. The joke is, the guy is a bad shot because he missed the elk. Basschump is presuming the intent of the man in the video was to hunt and kill the elk, not freeing the elk. This would make it a bad shot, because he missed the elk. Get it?
