The only people I worry about are the neighbors to the south. No hunters east or west and the guy to the north finally shot his first deer after buying it three years ago. He and I are very management minded and I pretty much pick and choose who shoots what on this place. I'm good about letting bucks walk, I've seen about a dozen so far this year and none have really excited me to the point of not second guessing myself.

That said, the southern neighbors tend to shoot every day I'm here, but I don't shoot just because someone else will. It's always a gamble.

I'd shoot the 8 but that's just me.

Seen neither today. I did rattle in a nice young 9 and shot my first turkey ever, which to me is like a big buck since I've been after one for a few years. cheers

So I set the landowners son in law up at the spot I've been seeing the 8 at fairly regularly and went to the far side of the property to kill some coons off a feeder this morning. I get to the feeder at about 0530 and kill both coons then get in the stand. I've nicknamed the stand "The Nursery" because it's been nothing but really young deer.

So I'm just sitting there, playing angry birds on my phone and I see a deer out there but it's not light enough to make it out so I go back to my phone. Twenty minutes later I look back up and realize it's a buck, then noticed it's Limpy and he's really having trouble moving around and the swelling is getting worse so.......

Good you got him taken care of. Curious to whether the meat is good if he had an infected?

Thanks guys! I took him to the taxi, meat was still good according to him. It looked good to me and the wound didn't smell bad even though it looked nasty.

Good job, man. Got a great buck and put one out of its misery that would likely have died anyway.

Win/Win

Thanks again guys. I would have given him a pass except for the leg. Any guesses on score? I'm seeing low 120's. I'll update when I get him back from the taxi like my 11 from last year.

I think he'll come out closer to 130 than 120. I shot one similar to this a few weeks ago that scored 126. Mine probably had a little longer G2's but your buck looks to have a bit better G3's and about 2 more inches of spread.

Looking at my 133 from last year I think you may be right.
