What are y'all fishing for reds n trout, live bait or artificial?

I only use artificial. Topwaters, red and white touts, and my favorite when the conditions are right are slabs and spoons. To me a 5/8 oz slab in the surf in late summer is the deadliest thing you can throw. With a heavy slab you can punch it on out there and fish passed the second sand bar. Fish wide to locate them and then narrow in on them. Many a quick limits that way.

Port O'Conner, is getting a little crowded but is still a great place to fish. It is a great place to hunt ducks. Lots and lots, tons of redheads in the back country. You just have to have a way to get to them. Even with a regular fishing boat you can get really good shooting in the open bay. Go to captain Kendricks facebook page and see the video he posted on facebook of the redheads. Although that doesn't happen every time you go out, it is not abnormal to hit it just like that.

Oh thats perfect. Yours has an elevator but I don't think they allow customers to use it for liability purposes. We are thinking about buying it as well. We could cut a door between living rooms and have a 5 bedroom condo with two slips. This thing is shaping up to be a great weekend. I might need to bring my 20 gallon black iron pot instead of the 10 for the jumbalaya.

I'm feeling I might could make it down to this. I don't think I have anything going on. I'd love to come out and meet some of the folks. I don't personally know anyone attending. I've fished POC a couple times but never hunted it. If I come I would need someone to show me where to go. I would bring my boat, dog, and gear. Boat will comfortable hold 3-4 people plus gear. She's just an old jon boat though, but rigged out for hunting. I wont know until the week before if I can make until the week of.

Absolutley! I have a map of the whole bay system. We can all formulate a strategy that allows plenty of room to hunt for everyone, plus reliability. If you have trouble, then you can call one of us for help or a tow ect. Hogman will be along so you know all our stuff is going to break down.

It's been 7 years I think since I went on my last THF group hunt. That was an unforgettable early season teal hunt down around Eagle Lake.
