How much do you know about the life history of the powdwer? You will have to work up load again with diff lot of powder. Unknown powder? Unknown lot? Unknown storage (temp humidity)?!!!!!!! Age deteriation, rust in can, moisture, contaimination with other powders, changes in the deterrent coating, auto igntion because of nitric/sulfric/base breakdown.!!! Powder is a pretty cheap componet of reloading. Do yourself and other a favor. I would not barter in open cans of unknown powders. Put them in the garden. Go to any of the powder Manu. web page and read there advisory on powders. http://www.alliantpowder.com/getting_started/safety/storage_handling.aspx

I should have clarified further my original intention as I do understand all of your points listed as I am not new to the game. I would do this only with trusted people known to take care of powder. Also, I am hoping to create a bit of a network to do this to trial loads among us. That said, lot to lot is an issue but I am finding good consistancy lot to lot with the powders I currently use.
My original thoughts on this were poorly worded and intention unclear. I simply did not want to start out in the classifieds as that would be foolish.
So, I will drop it altogether and just work it among my current network.
Thanks, Jim

If you trust who you are buying the powder from, I think it is a good idea. I might have few oddball cans laying around. Let me know what you are looking for.
All of my stuff is kept indoors.
