Their large breed puppy food. This is on their website and also printed all all the bags of this puppy food, it says 1 to 3 months gets more food than 3 to 5 months? Looks like it is backwards, same with the chart below it. Am I missing something?

Wellness is the same way. The younger the dog, the more it is growing, the higher the nutritional needs.

I don't remember measuring food for my puppies. I simply feed them all they could eat three times a day, then two times a day.

Mine suits me. She's a good eater. I give her white bread with her dog feed.

I've never been able to go by the bag. My pup needed a lot more food to maintain weight between 3-6 months and now. I think I was feeding around 6 cups a day at 6 months and now at 11 months old she gets 4 cups a day. I just look at her and adjust to maintain a good weight. I would say she's fits into the "ideal" look from your chart....maybe a touch on the heavy side

Some say that you can't overfeed a puppy. I tend to lean toward this thought with a cautionary note. A ton of puppies develop hernias at a young age. This is due to overfeeding. Puppies will gorge themselves on dry food and then drink water. This causes the food to swell and the pup will literally "bust a gut". This can be avoided by feeding smaller portions multiple times a day. I do this until the pup is about six months old and then gravitate towards once a day feeding. Follow the body condition chart but remember noticeable changes usually take a week or two to notice. Make small changes and be patient.

I feed 4 Health from tractor supply. It's expensive but not ridiculous like the Blue Buffalo I've seen. My dogs do well on it in surprisingly small amounts.
I'm a believer in feeding a high quality food but our dogs 35 years ago did great on the cheapest food available and table scraps. They didn't seem to live as long but I never saw one run out of energy before I did. Back then a six year old bird dog was an old one for me. I never had one make it to old age back then, ( still haven't). An injury or something else always happens. We hunted our dogs every evening and they were all muscle and callouses by the end of season in the Sandhills.
The higher quality feed we have today doesn't run through a dog as quick. And I believe it is better for them. I would look into a more economical feed than the top of the line products. Like Oxner said feed them all they will eat when they're pups several times a day.
Once you're pup gets older just keep an eye on him and feed accordingly. I have 3 right now and none of them eat the same amount.

You should use Orijen I think it's way better than blue.
