I didn't fall down the mountain. I merely found a new way to go down the mountain.

I am running highly water resistant gear. For the days it just squirted I will be fine. If rain is really coming in like last year I will take the rain gear

Got on the road and heading to Cortez for the night. Left the house about 3:30 am this morning. All traveling this week be safe and happy hunting.

Ready to leave Friday morning.... This is all son can talk about, and several co workers are asking me to bring back some Colorado Gummy bears.

Just a heads up to you guys, they are showing 70-90% rain on monday and tuesday for where you will be at.

On the road and just realized I never put my gun sling back on the rifle after going to the range. This is how one acquires so much redundant crap. I hope I can find a worthy replacement. Ugh!

Truck packed and ready to roll for noon departure to NW Wyoming for last week of season. Should be in the woods by noon tomorrow.

Sorry fellas, been a rough 10 days.

Weather was the worst I have seen in over 30 years, hotter than normal, 60mph winds, constant 20-30, full moon. Even the outfitters I know hadn't killed but one in the 1st 3 days, elk where much higher than normal and in the deepest cracks they could find. Opening morning, I only wore t shirt under my jacket, had to pull the jacket off by 9am. AM temps where in the 50's and daytime 70's, was getting better the last day. I did let a small bear go, maybe 12 months old, took a crap 10 yards from me then cruised on.

2nd day, get a call from the wife, FIL fell and was taken to the hospital, they found 4 tumors in his head, so she flew out to NC. I had a couple places I wanted to go too, but didnt bring a small trailer for the UTV and I needed to stay in phone reception.

All I brought home was dirty clothes and 16 trout Longest five day hunt I ever had...

One funny thing, the camp that set up beside me where AH, they pitched a GP army octogon tent, rode atvs the whole time, guns out (big no no there). Sunday night the winds really kicked up, blew a vent right of the top of my camper! About 1am, I get a knock on the door, guns in hand, I open it. Fellas next door need to borrow flashlights. I turned on the trailer loading lights and lite up their camping spot, all their gear than wasnt nailed down was in the trees, the tent was half way up over the near trees, they left by 9-10am

Can't say what the fellas find this season, hopefully they get some weather.

Ha you get summer weather and I got teens and ft of snow.
