what a bunch of cry babies....6 dollar corn vs 7 dollar corn, who cares....if you want to use a feeder your gonna pay it, stop crying...and besides MOST people buy what, a 1000 pounds of corn a year and that is probly a high number, so what 20 sacks of corn...so even if it were 8 bucks vs. 5 thats a whopping 60 bucks spread over a 3 month period so 20 bucks a month....when you put it in perspective its a drop in the bucket of what we spend to hunt....just sayin

I wasn't complaining, just responding to the thread. It was posed as a question. I answered it.

Corn is one of my most expensive parts of my hunting bills, free leasees, and we split the gas. Corn and ammo it the rest of my expences. But i'm not complaining unless your selling corn for almost $12 a bag, where others are only $7 or $8 a bag.

indeed, i guess we could get mad at most the feed stores that are gouging the American farmer when walmart sells corn for a fraction of the price....kinda makes you wonder what else they are gouging on

No harm, it was the bunch of cry babies(plural) that made me think I was being included in your complaining group.

Landman, I look at it differently than you. When commodity prices increase, I expect to pay more. However, when the producer/farmer has to sell for less, I don't like the idea of retail prices staying high. That's gouging.

$6.99 at the IGA in Ballinger this weekend. I go along with the idea that if you want to see a bunch of deer while you sit in your blind to shoot deer, pay the price. Or, get out of the blind, scout the land, and actually HUNT for deer. I pay for the corn to watch the deer, both at home and at the ranch.

Bought 500# for $5.85/bag today in Gorman. Rstewlandman, there's not much more than that going on .....but I know what you mean: what's the difference between fuel at $1.829/gallon and $1.929/gallon? (on a 20 gallon tank it's only $2 but we gripe all week)

I don't think we look at it different, its just the concept of Rocket and feather....price rockets up and feathers down.

Well i gotta say that corn is the only thing i pay for when hunting. So it does bother me when corn prices go up. May not be for all of yall, but when corn goes up 2 dollars a bag, it hurts/ at 4 sacks a week, thats over 30 dollars more a month. add that onto the already 90bucks a month already, and it sucks for people that dont make a lot. So compared to all of my other hunting expenses, it is not a "drop in the bucket" it is the entire F**kn bucket. Im not sayin that i will go broke buying $8 corn, but it is pretty significant when they raise the price 2 bucks, and all my buddies that farm corn are sellin it 2 bucks cheaper. Kinda like cattle prices, they are low as hell, and the meat prices at Wally world are out the roof, it sucks. Not to mention the price of feed for cattle has also sky rocketed with corn, but all i can do is sit here and cry about it..........

Maybe TP&W needs a Lone Star card for deer corn for the people with lower incomes! Kind of like a food stamp program for deer.

Yes dog catcher, and maybe we could get the cash that people on welfare get to buy bullets....and while we are at it lets describe lower income as married filing jointly less than 150K a year....I figure I paid about 25K in taxes in 08, I should get some of that back, OR we could cut off some of the people who didn't have an income who sat on the front porch and got the welfare and then give that money back to me and everyone else who paid for them to eat steak and ribs and drink cheap beer, smoke dope and steal!

Gotta love that capital gains tax! I didn't know cheap beer existed, it doesn't fall into the 5 categories (your beer, my beer, free beer, cold beer, hot beer).

TPWD doesn't control the corn crop...talk to the feed stores for a 'Corn Card'.
