Anybody using stand and fill feeders where there are hogs? Would like to use them but I can see some of my big hogs knocking it over.

I've got a 1600# from Krivoman Outdoors (Mitch) and they ain't knocking it over and root all around it, no problem. I too have some big hogs. With the sled base legs you should be good. I think you would be good with the heavy duty All Season SF also.

guy I know (not sure if he is on here or not?) builds some really nice looking stand and fill feeders out of Early Texas. GreenGo Feeders ... he could probably tell you how well they hold up to hogs.

If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

I've had a cheap one for 2 years with hogs coming in all the time...its never been knocked over. Coons have torn up the the varmint cage and control unit but stopped that with and eliminator. Cattle will knock them over!

As you know I'm just south of you and all my feeders are 300lb stand and fill. No problems yet.

They will hold up but if your in hog country, which most everyone is, without a pen or hog panels, you will be feeding hogs, not deer, every time the feeder goes off. If your mainly hunting hogs then I guess that's fine. Like someone said above, cows will knock them over if given the chance.
How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?

These feeders are the best I've ever seen or used. The design doesn't allow for corn buildup under the feeder. Spreads perfectly even circle of corn about 35'. I have 38 bison and lots of hogs in one pasture where 2 of these are and neither have turned one over. And they are the smaller feeders. And I haven't even driven rebar through the hole in the base that is provided for that purpose. http://texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/5644674/Alamo_Deer_Feeders_for_sale...

All of my feeders are stand and fill. I sink a T-Post next to each one, do a couple of wraps of bailing wire around the barrel, and tie off to the T-post. nothings pushed one over yet. I've had cattle try and pigs knock a leg off of one, but it didn't fall.
Thanks!! Matt
The psycho nut bags have always been there. They just get better press now. Take away their guns, they'll use knives. Take away their knives and they'll use sticks!!
