Rent a tractor or pay someone in the area to mow it for you. You'll find guys offering this service on Craig's List. Most charge by the hour. A guy with a tractor and bush hog can mow a lot in an hour or two Investing in an economical, used tractor was one of the best moves I ever made to improve my hunting opportunities. There is no substitute.

We had the issue with the broom weed last year also. What we did is bolt a chain to both ends of a 48" x 12"+ log, made a loop at the center of the chain with a bolt, looped the chain over the Rhino hitch and drove around like we were mowing the grass. Worked great, knocked down all the broom weed. Then we used a weed eater around and inside the feeder fence. I have heard of people using a piece of I-beam like we did the log.

I've got an old railroad tie and behind it a piece of chain link fence that I've used to drag behind the Jeep. It really doesn't do much but push the weeds over and a week later they are right back up, and that's going over them more than a few times. Rent a mower is the best way to do it.

These shooting lanes were cut with a chainsaw, cleared with the bucket and maintained with the brush hog.

Keep it low, the grass will grow, no weeds that way. Your best bet is lot mowers, they usually charge $40 per acre or more.
