27.00 ish bucks for a little scale pan!!! Wonder why they are so high?
The wire that attaches my pan to my scale is lost. Guess I'll try and rig something. As long as it zeros I'm good right?
It ain't easy being me.

dang, just bought one too, I don't think it will work on my old Lyman Oahu's, balance beam scale.
I guess its the weight set that comes with it.

I read something a while back that guys were using a file to reduce the weight of the aftermarket pans or adding silver solider to the base to add weight if need. Just need to know the weight o the stock pan.

You have the pan, but need the wire hanger? I see no problem bending up a replacement using similar thickness wire. Start longer than necessary and shorten it as needed to get to the right mass.
Enjoy! Jeff

Watch ebay, they come up for a few dollars with some regularity.

Some parts of a balance/scale require serious precision. All the wire hanger needs to do is be strong and stable enough to support the pan in the same position every time, and have a mass that allows you to adjust to zero. If things work out for you the same way they work out for me, then soon after you make a hanger you are happy with you will find the original one!

Well I did find it. I'm in the process of moving. It was in the bottom of a plastic box full of bore brushes etc. Good to know how pricey they can be so now I'll be more careful.
