Yeah, the laws do seem vague. Sometimes I think
purposely so.
Here's my understanding:
Assuming we still get 3 buck tags and assuming
we will still be under the "by county" rather
than the old "by zone" restrictions, you can
kill 1 or 2 bucks with at least 1 un-branched
antler in the antler restriction counties. You
can kill 1 buck with an un-branched antler and you
can kill 1 buck with 2 branched antlers with at
least a 13" inside spread but you can only kill
1 buck with 2 branched antlers and a 13" inside
spread per county with antler restrictions. Now,
if you have killed your bag limit in 1 county you
can still hunt in another county and complete your
state bag limit taking a buck deemed legal by that
counties restrictions.
Wow, maby I should get a job writing for the TPWD.
I'm every bit as confusing as they are.
