I have a yellow lab I have taken for the last 3 years to South Dakota and I have a hard time keeping track of her while hunting. she comes when I call. But if we are in milo or tall grass and I can not tell where she is I would call her back she might be on a bird. So I am thinking of putting a bell on. The question is would it affect the birds if I put a bell on her while hunting I have already put it on her and it works great Thanks for you imput

You might try a beeper collar.

Satellite tracking collar, no noise
There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

I presume you are using this dog to flush birds. A bell probably will cause birds to run, especially late season and in crops. A gps will tell you where she is. However, teaching her to run a pattern zig zag in front of you would be better. You can do this easily with a check cord.

A bell or beeper collar are going to cause the birds to run. They get smart real quick and anytime they hear any noise they start to run. I'd look into a Garmin Astro or Garmin Alpha system.
Say When.....

Not if you program it to the "point only" mode. I have killed plenty of pheasants using a beeper in this fashion.

I use a beeper. It works fine.
I set it to beep only when the dog locks on point.

Don't they make a beeper that sounds like a hawk when on point?, if you go beeper that would be the one I would use
