Scored on a super SCI Gold axis buck Thursday while hunting with Martin Reina @ La Contessa Ranch in Medina TX. The buck's antlers contain tons of character and features: gobs of mass carrying all the way to the tips, blades on both beams above the caudels, an acorn on one caudel (!), and really good length (34.25 & 32.25), width (28.5) & tine lengths. Got a couple tips to repair since this old boy was fighting a bit it seems - nothing Jesse Palmer at Reflections Taxidermy can't handle. We put in our time, and Martin took good care of me along the way. Martin's got several others out there that are as good or even better, too. Many thanks to Martin and the La Contessa Ranch!
