This week I will be traveling to Northern NM to hunt coyotes with my old buddy, Larry Symes and Chuck Wahr from Trijicon. Populations were low but we managed to wallow out a couple of kills. This is my favorite terrain to call coyotes and when the coyotes are there, it can be amazing. Thanks and Adios, Gary

Had the opportunity to do this last year with my Taxidermist and his Brother (both members here) in New Mexico and was amazed at the Color and size of the Dogs up in that Country..Once I seen the Color and Size I was hooked on one to Full Body Mount and THEN...Was soon to realize with the Open Country and Vast Ranch, shooting a Song Dog in NM versus Texas is night and day. You had to work for them and pay attention, we were not successful but this year will be different Good Luck and Happy Hunting

No, the populations are generally not that low but for some reason, they are not raising many pups. I am wondering if Parvo or some other disease has not hampered the populations. (I have noticed lower numbers up there for about 7 years now. This particular ranch has been flying for about 10 days a year in January with a chopper. The terrain is so open, that I know they are getting a high percentage of the coyote population. While this ranch is over a quarter million acres, coyotes from neighboring ranches where there is no predator control will move in to fill the void. Years ago, I can remember going up there and killing 15-20 coyotes a day when populations were good. Thanks and Adios. Gary

Hey Gary, I enjoyed your show. I also noticed you carrying a little more grey than some of them coy dogs. Awesome show!

Nice work, Gary! I think that I have your youngest fan here. My 20 month old son crawls into my lap with his blanket and watches your show in the evenings until he falls asleep. I have been going back into the old seasons and watching them every evening. My little boy just can't help but watch those bobcats and coyotes come in.

You are right about the gray...not sure if it is the miles or raising three sons, you know a little about that... I was shooting a Ruger Model 77 in .223, Hornady 53 grain V Max factory ammo and a 3-9x40 Trijicon scope. I will be shooting a Ruger American Rifle in .22-250 in the future, especially when hunting the big open terrain like this. I really appreciate hearing from you fine folks and especially to hear that I have such a young fan. I know I am old fashioned but I think that there is a certain responsibility that goes along with TV. We never know who is watching and we should always behave as we would want our kids to behave, in other words, we should be a positive roll model. Adios, Gary

I wish Washington and Austin shared those convictions, Gary.

Absolutely Gary, time to hang the gun belt up because you never know who might be hunting for blue and dust off my old 243 which I killed my first buck with at the young age of 18 thanks to your Dad! You guys taught me a lot and I can never thank you enough for treating me like Family!

This Black Live Matter BS has gotten out of hand and in my opinion is fueling the war on blue. It is a very dangerous time for Law Enforcement and they need our support and prays. The Democrats are attempting to disarm this country when having a weapon for protection is needed more than ever. BowsnRods, you ARE family! Adios, Gary
