Looking to try and release, re-populate turkeys on ranch near Mineola. Any suggestions for breeders, bird farms in East TX?

Maybe contact the National Wild Turkey Federation.
I believe it's difficult to have success with releasing farm raised birds.

I believe it's difficult to have success with releasing farm raised birds. Not only difficult but also illegal. Interesting thread with quite a bit of discussion on stocking wild turkey turkey stocking thread

Get a hold of some neighbors and talk to them about it. You need a lot of land to get in the program. Once you have neighbors on board, get a hold of your county biologist and game warden. They will be able to get you on the right track

Yep...that's the only way to go if you don't already have 10,000 continuous acres of habitat of your own..you connect with neighbors and form a co-op. Yall will have to implement a wildlife management plan to maintain habitat and help keep look out for the birds. Biologist have to come out to look at the habitat and to see if it's suitable and guide you in your management plan to create the right type of habitat. The focal areas of east Texas have been along the Neches river watershed south of 175 all the way down to the Angelina national forest and soon the Sulphur river watershed from southwest of Paris, TX all the way to just west of Texarkana. You're right between both of those areas so if yall can start a co-op consisting of the 10,000 I'd contact the biologist. If not then give the birds several years to expand beyond the release areas. One might think it takes a long time but birds from the Bobcat Ridge co-op south of hwy 84 released in 2007/08 have already started showing up way north near hwy 175 in Cuney, TX. Some of the recently released birds released on the Angelina NF this year traveled 67 miles before returning back to the release area according to their radio transmitters. Get you're place ready to hold birds when they show up by creating the right habitat. Get a hold of some neighbors and talk to them about it. You need a lot of land to get in the program. Once you have neighbors on board, get a hold of your county biologist and game warden. They will be able to get you on the right track
