Anyone think we need to split this forum in to two forums - Hogs & Javelina and Varmint & Small Game?

yes, Yes, YES!!!!!!
I've been thinking it for a long time now.
You have to filter past pig pig pig and some cool stories, photos, etc get lost in the mix...

It needs to be split. You'll probably get a lot more hunters to share the small game posts if there was a better chance they'd be seen. And hogs, although invasive and destructive, are sought after for sport and food more than anything these days. I feel like small game, varmint, and swine should all be separated. Maybe this should be kept as a category, with small game, varmint, and hog in three separate gates?

yep i`d say split it up , hog hunting has grown to large not to have its own forum . That's what I think. Since we set up this forum in 2004, hog hunting has exploded. We probably should have done this a few years back. ARs and hog hunting have both really grown in popularity over the last 10-12 years. I know a lot of folks have been chasing piggies a lot longer than that, but I thik way more target them now and it's way more of a main stream type of hunting.

Split it, some of us could care less about a pig. I don't see why folks get so excited about hunting them. They're everywhere, they're dumb, and probably the easiest animal to kill. I'd love to see all the pig hunters split off from the varmint topic. <pig hunter

In the great words of J.P. Greeson "No, it ain't broke"
Besides if you split it up then only 25 people will be discussing things - which brings up a question, how many different people have STARTED a hogs only thread in the last two weeks....
Anyhoo - I like more company on forums without categorizing everything unless of course money is tied to the decision then I can see the "mainstream" becoming a vendor hangout.

I think the hogs over shadow the rest and a separate set up might make it easier on both sides to enjoy.

I would also like for it to be allowed to post predator contest on the predator hunting forum if it gets split up. I understand it's an announcement but what does it hurt to advertise a hunt?

We need a hog forum just like we need an NFA forum. Ther is no harm in creating either, the fear of it being a dead sub forum isn't a big deal. Try it for 6 months and if it doesn't get traffic, then get rid of it. Simple as that.

Three sections....
1. Hogs 2. Predators 3. Other varmints & small game

Not enough posts to split it up I bet a hog only forum would get more hits than Knives, Muzzle Loading, or Trap, Skeet & Target Shooting
