Try Sloww Bone for Dallas( relatively new place think 2.5 years), everything made from scratch. That is hard to find anymore where most worry just about the meat and just buy prepared sides. This place does it all the hard way and it shows in the products!

SMOKE bbq on Preston in Plano....a lil uppity, but man it was great brisket. I started a post in the OT asking if anyone has tried this and not one bite. I recommend, but bring plenty of $$$. Smoke is really good. The brisket is great, but the beef rib is even better. Not your typical bbq joint, but great food. Will give it a shot, always in that area working.... $22 for a slice of meat , good but not that good Fat cow in lewisville is more like boiled roast , it's not on the same level Pretty pricey, but for the area where many houses are over 10K sq ft I guess it goes with the territory..........

Lakewood Smokehouse is new and pretty good. $16 for two meats. I had plenty for another meal I took to the lease. And had enough for a small lunch the next day. Kids meals are cheap and hearty. http://www.lakewoodsmokehouse.com/menu.html

Gonna be in Dallas on a Sunday evening and noticed Hard 8 is the only one that stays open late on Sundays. Is it even worth trying?

Haven't tried the new hard 8 in The Colony, place is HUGE !!! I always liked the one in Stephenville . as with many BBQ joints, it's hit and miss.
Never even heard of Sloww Bone. All you hear around is Pecan Lodge and Lockhart

Had Ten 50 brought home to me for my birthday last night. It was serviceable but not top notch. I think you pay a little for the experience (which we didn't experience). My wife said the place was cool.

Try the cornbread pudding at the Slow Bone. The Hard 8 in Colony is doing a good job last time I was there.

Pecan Lodge was good. I went early on a weekday. I ain't standing in line for 2 hours for BBQ.
I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.

Ate at Kenny's Smokehouse in Plano. I will say the moist brisket was some of the best I've had. It holds up to Pecan Lodge and Lockhart's. On top of that no hour and a half wait. Got right in at 11:45. Atmosphere is a bit upscale for BBQ but my food was really good. 7-8 oz of brisket with a choice of one side $14.99. Sides are good also.

1. Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum best BBQ. All the meats have been great including side dishes. The Beef ribs are to Die For Pricey but heck almost all of them are. 2. Hutchins in Mckinney Best BBQ for the $, had lunch there twice, will certainly go again Do not go out for BBQ much since I cook a lot of my own.

Pecan Lodge really good but I too not will to sit in a huge line for it! Best way to do Pecan Lodge is to go with the family or a group of buddies. If you order 5 or more pounds of meat, you can go right to the express line. Since they instituted the express line, I haven't had to wait for more than 10 minutes. Pretty easy for 3-4 guys to tear up 5+ pounds of top notch barbecue.

Ventured to the new Hard 8 in the colony today. It's not as expensive as some but e quality is low. The brisket was more like a roast. For the area there are much better choices in Q

BIL Im so glad you wrote that...I went at 130 Wed and I just dont get people raving about it....The half chicken was clearly yesterdays reheated or way over cooked/dry....I asked for 3 bones of spare ribs and they had no taste except that of old pork and were grey with bno smoke ring.......The brisket I asked for 3 thick slices and by the time they cut and transferred to the tray it looked like fallen apart roast....I did enjoy the poppers..Turkey and shrimp...never again...
