Send a copy of the SO report to the USDA, and maybe a few other of the ABC agencies, and maybe the attorney general and Govenor. Ooooohh send it to the media! That might make a head spin and and at least make them accountable for their actions and maybe even save the life of a hunter or livestock.

Well I'll assume there is no compensation from the USDA on hogs harvested.

Just wonder how far off the google grid they were. Maybe they got bored on the neighbors. I would not trust them any further than I could throw the helicopter.

I met a rancher who caught a military chopper shooting axis on his place. I loved the story he told when he "put the chopper pilot on the phone to confirm to his base commander the ranch owner "now" owned a US Chopper".
It got real interesting.......

THIS! They screwed up at best, at worst they new exactly where and what they were doing and think they are above the law, and they/he decides to cop an attitude...at that point I press charges.

Choctaw, you are probably right I doubt this team were LEOs. It sounds like your sister did everything, short of filing charges, that she could. Have you seen or heard of the eradication team returning to the area since this incident?

I certainly don't blame your sis for not pressing charges. But it is interesting, isn't it, that the guys that think they're the biggest and the baddest, have a habit of clamming up when reality comes crashing down on their self image.

LOL, nothing. The landowner doesn't own feral hogs anymore than the landowner owns the raccoons and coyotes.

TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE CODE:

SUBCHAPTER B. PROPERTY OF THE STATE

Sec. 1.011. PROPERTY OF THE STATE. (a) All wild animals, fur-bearing animals, wild birds, and wild fowl inside the borders of this state are the property of the people of this state.

(b) All fish and other aquatic animal life contained in the freshwater rivers, creeks, and streams and in lakes or sloughs subject to overflow from rivers or other streams within the borders of this state are the property of the people of this state.

Exotic Animals and Fowl

Exotic animal refers to grass-eating or plant-eating, single-hoofed or cloven-hoofed mammals that are not indigenous or native to Texas and are known as ungulates, including animals from the deer and antelope families that landowners have introduced into this state. Includes, but is not limited to feral hog, Aoudad sheep, Axis deer, Elk, Sika deer, Fallow deer, Blackbuck antelope, Nilgai antelope, and Russian boar. Exotic fowl refers to any avian species that is not indigenous to this state, including ratites (emu, ostrich, rhea, cassowary, etc.).

There are no state bag or possession limits or closed seasons on exotic animals or fowl on private property. It is against the law to:
•Hunt an exotic without a valid hunting license.
•Hunt an exotic on a public road or right-of-way.
[b]•Hunt an exotic without the landowner's permission.[/b]
•Possess an exotic or the carcass of an exotic without the owner's consent.

http://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/hunting/nongame-and-other-species

My understanding Feral hogs are the property of the land owner on whose property they happen to be on. If hunting without the landowners permission it is illegal to hunt or possess feral hogs. It is also not legal for your bullet to cross property lines onto lands you do not have permission to shoot. I would think shooting from a helicopter at hogs would be against the law without the landowners permission.

First; yes I am aware of the law.
Second; my attempt at some "high fence" sarcasm regarding their disregard for this law.

Red Cloud, she saw them the next day at the Allsup's in Throckmorton. They had the helicopter on a trailer.
