Jeffbird...based on that, I'd surmise that you are a lawyer yourself. I meant every word I've said about the legal profession. I can see how you might take it personally, but it's not meant as a personal attack and especially not against anyone I've never met face to face.
I wish the legal profession would police itself much better than it has. That's something that is long overdue.
Kudos to you for giving Chad a hand with the situation.

A Google check shows that NotTheOtherGuy'sReloads might be an available name. LOL!!! I have been thinking about something. So far the best we've come up with is GS Ammunition (for Good Sh$t ammo). But it's more of a laugh.

Guys, I've know Jeff (jeffbird) for many years, have shot with him, and communicated with him over deals together. He has even sent me press parts for free. Jeff is a good guy, despite his profession. Sure, the lawyer can get a bad wrap, but not all lawyers are bad. I would for sure not put Jeff in that category. So, don't derail over that.

Had a good buddy get an email from an attorney down by the coast saying his client was suing him for the drunk driver who hit him being in his company's truck. Turns out it was a different company with a similar name.
The crazy part was they gave him the make model and color of the truck, which was the exact same thing he was letting me borrow at the time while mine was down. For a short period he was convinced I had borrowed his pickup, roadtripped to the coast, then got hammered and slammed into somebody without telling him.

Casually filing filling a lawsuit against parties that you indeed know have nothing to do with your situation is the definition of frivolous to me. Chad wasn't the ammo maker in question - and when presented with evidence to back that up the shyster did not remove him as a defendant. Remington did nothing wrong other than putting their name on the case. Maybe the lawyer in question should next file a class action lawsuit against Winchester and Colt on the part of every American Indian.

Feel your pain, Chad, nothing worse than being hosed for no reason at all and not being able to do anything about it. I'm no lawyer but I find it hard to believe you wouldn't be able to get some sort of satisfaction against the lawyer, he already admitted he launched the suit without determining if it was you. Chris

On the name change...if you're really looking into it, keep 'custom' in there, it ranks right up there with 'new and improved' in gaining.interest. I have trouble remembering if it's Dallas Custom Reloads or Custom Reloads of Dallas...but always remember 'custom'.

Let me first state, my ammunition is not the ammo used in this case!! Here's what I've been dealing with the last 3 weeks. I got served from a process server saying my company, Custom Reloads of Dallas, Inc, has been named in a federal lawsuit, along with 6 branches of Taurus and Remington Arms. It is filed in the Eastern District of Michigan. I read the suit to get the details. The details are a man in Michigan bought some 41 Rem Mag ammo through Ammo to Go (who I do not distribute through), fired the ammo in his Taurus revolver, and it blew up in his hands. This happened in Sept of 2013. The Plaintiff's attorney is claiming bodily injury, temporary and permanent injury, lost wages, mental anguish, scaring, etc... the hole kitchen sink. I speak to the the Plaintiff's attorney, and he doesn't know a thing about guns or ammo. I find out that the ammo used was in a zip lock bag with "D.R.S. 41 Rem Mag, 200 grain" on it. I inform the attorney that this is not my ammo and do not sell through Ammo to Go, which he thinks I'm full of [censored] and he's heard this before. After a long talk and showing him some internet links, he starts to come around to realizing his mistake. I ask for him to remove me from the case, and send me a letter showing I am not the proper defendant. (After discussion with him, he is suing Remington Arms simply because the caliber used was 41 Remington Magnum!!) Fast forward 2 weeks, and he will not remove me from the case. He sends me a total BS letter that states they are not sure who the proper defendants are in this case, and they will not default anyone until they determine who the proper defendants are in this case. But, once you are served, you have 21 days to respond. If you do NOT respond, they can come after you for not responding, and you are on the hook in the case, whether it was your company or not that produced the ammo. So, I MUST file a response. To file, I have to hire an attorney with a retainer of $5K, just to get started. My attorney speaks to the plaintiff's attorney, and today, I get the letter I've been waiting for saying that he will not default on me and will begin the process of removing me from the case. I didn't trust the slime bag plaintiff's attorney further than I can throw him. What I don't understand in all this "law" stuff, is how in the heck can a lawyer file suit against someone or a company without knowing who they are suing. He literally told me over the phone and in his cheesy letter, that said he was not sure who the proper defendants are in this case yet. Wouldn't you do your homework on this before you just file all kinds of suits and at least get the correct companies!!?? I will never understand this! The next thing is that he is suing Remington because the caliber was "41 Remington Magnum". I told the attorney he should sue 41 also. I can't make this stuff up!!! This is the 3rd time my company has been confused with D.R.S., and this one is the worst. I'll let you guys figure out who D.R.S. is. I'm seriously thinking about changing my company name now. But, I know who is about to get served now! Link to ammo purchased: http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/product_info.php/pName/50rds-41-mag-drs-2000gr-jhp-ammoLink to lawsuit info: http://www.guns.com/2016/03/08/michigan-man-names-taurus-remington-in-personal-injury-suit/ Chad - sorry to hear you got dragged into that mess - been there... (different situation- but career wrecking nonetheless), so I know exactly how it feels. Yup - you (or anybody) can get named in a lawsuit for anything; costs money (lots) to get out of that 'hole' most times, EVEN IF NO WAY now how involved ( YES, you get to pay $5k + to PROVE you should be dropped from the suit- ignore it and you're AUTOMATICALLY 'guilty'!!). You need DEEP pockets to CounterSue against frivolous suit . . . Let us know how it turns out...

but I think 'BullsEye Custom Reloads' better describes your work & reputation! Too close to Bullseye Range and Guns in Duncanville. Could get into the same problems the dallasreloads domain and Dallas Reloading created. Needs to have no similarity to any other company in the area. I have seen more than once on the forum where outfitters had similar names or acronyms causing the wrong one to catch blame on things posted.
