Well no hogs tonight I could hear them the past couple days just would not come in. I figured out tonight they haven't come in because it's a bedding area. They are only about 60 yards from the stand. Y'all have any ideas to draw them out?

Did you hunt until after dark with feeder lights? Ours are coming in right after dark so a feeder light does the trick.

I hunted until about 9:20. I had corn but I haven't put it there in a few moths so I guess they didn know it was there.

I think plain corn is as good as any bait, but it often takes hogs several days to find it. The deer and raccoons seem to find it quickly which is why a pig pipe can be useful. But basically, I never throw corn out in an afternoon and expect to see hogs around it that same evening.

That only works on roads/senderos as they pass by. Got to feed them regularly with an actual feeder with a green motion light.

I have my feeder set for 9PM to cater to pigs but have trained the coons well also!
Also try to keep the pipes full.

Set up a camera and see when they come and go, hunt around those times.

Its possible that they have a bedding area that close to a stand/bait site, but more likely they are 'staging' the area before coming in. If that is the case...it usually gets worse until they 'bust you' for certain.

If I have hogs that are 'staging' or even circling, I will back off that stand for awhile, check my cameras (always use cameras) to see when they ARE coming in... then hunt when they have relaxed a bit. IF there are small pigs in the group they will often go to the bait first. IF nothing happens to them, the rest of the group will usually come filing in.

I've had quite a few occasions where the lead sow (or another pig acting as sentry) will check out the area before the group will come in. You can hear the rest of the group in the distance, grunting, squealing, moving about.

That is not indicative of a bedding area...those are hogs that are 'staging' or traveling.

If you do find a bedding area STAY OUT OF IT. A bedding area is chosen for a reason, it represents a spot where they feel comfortable. Rarely will that be at or near a terminal site (food source or water) except in drought conditions and periods of extreme heat.
