I will just keep up all year then 2 weeks before season turn everything to sling for 15 mins Then just stop on my chum lanes and dump 50 pound bags in piles like Cones

Sounds like you need a 3rd lease to fill in the slack time.

Your deer should send you a V-Day card the way you feed them.

I've never put out protein. What should I look for at the feed store? What is a 'ballpark' price I should expect? I assume this can be run through a spinner...

swmays, a feeder will broadcast protein pellets, JUST be sure the inside stays dry. We throw a 50% corn 50% protein. We buy ours at the Co-Op in Greenville, price depends on percent of protein I think we use 16 or 18% around $8 for 50lb bag.

We buy ours at the Co-Op in Greenville, price depends on percent of protein I think we use 16 or 18% around $8 for 50lb bag. The pellets/corn both have moisture in them. A very tight lid on a metal feeder barrel or plastic feeder barrel is part of the problem if the feeder clogs up or battery dies. The pellets and corn will both heat up and that moisture/condensation will rise to the top of the barrel. It forms water droplets if it cannot escape or vent out of the feeder. As long as the feeder is clogged, it will then rain back down inside the feeder causing the feed to mold.
