Green, mainly cause I see through it better in my scope when it's dark

Green, had a family of coons walk right up to me within 5' with my green light directly in their eyes. No issue on hogs either.

I've always had best results with Red. But regardless which you choose, what really matters is the level of intensity, hunting pressure and whether or not the animal can see the source of the light.
I've had animals react or NOT react to each of those colors and even bright white light....but you MUST consider all the variables involved and choose accordingly.
For longer ranges...I tend use Green (you can see farther with it, but it seems to wash out detail), for shorter ranges (125 yards and in) my choice is Red. For me, red preserves detail and your night vision.
Do NOT be fooled by claims that such and such animal can not see RED light GREEN light...etc. It doesn't matter that they don't see it as RED or GREEN, they SEE IT as something else (a shade of gray, green, whatever) it is NOT invisible to them, so try to avoid using any light that is too intense, the source will be noticed, the shadows it creates will be noticed.
Good luck to you.
Flint.

Green, because I have green feeder lights already. Using red crosshairs provides good contrast.

I've had good luck with green.
It's not how you fall, It's how you get up.

Agree with Flintknapper ... Used ta sit & wait for hog movement, then ease twards em with flashlight off before the big craze of NV & Thermal... My set up was tree ladder edge of tree line, At my 2 O'clock had food plot with cheap celular lights in egg shape that came on at dusk with PVC feeder in middle... & at me 10 O'clock spinner feeder & such... $25.00 mildot scope on top, green laser under set up for close shots... Light of the moon... Even the cheap scope could see the dots in scope at 50+ yrds if hog came in ta the lights, good clear full moon night 100 yrds... Cool thread... Ps if had the money & place ta use it would have, NV & Thermal for hog hunten...
