Last day was really fun as well with a huge spread and thousands of pintails and mallards locked up. Dark geese were working as well. Fun trip, will be back in December. Thank you Zach and your entire crew.

I think I'm ready to go to Kansas. You should. Have you seen every body of water along a 30 mile stretch of Hwy covered with geese elbow to elbow? Or flock after flock, several thousand birds, dropping in a corn field not 20 feet over your head in a snow storm so thick you can't see them until they're in your face. You shoot, they flare, circle, and come right back again and again. Sitting in a concrete inground blind on a 1/2 acre pond and having flocks of honkers dropping in all day long? Two trips, tons of birds and more expected. Epic hunts both days. Gonna hit it weekly as long as there's birds, leave at 11pm, we're sitting in the blind eating bacon and scrambled eggs before LST, and get home by 10pm that day. Central KS is an easy drive from N TX and fortunately has little pressure except for a few pub spots which I stopped hunting due to have privates spots now (Cheney Bottoms, etc can get packed). Friendly folks, free hunts if you know where to look and don't mind knockin on doors, and hunting as good if not better than AR. Nice and quiet, no jack wagons, (just Amish wagons:), no BS, no drama. And very inexpensive the way we're rollin.

Nice, were the light geese just not there or just not interested in the field?

they were there in great numbers, but not wanting to commit. conservation season is better when you can use the speakers.
once we took the white off the spread, the dark geese started to commit. it was very cool to see thousands of ducks landing in our spread. This year we will go in December to have em both.
it sure was fun, unlike them pond popping here. if you want to have a feel of the real migration and want to see thousands of birds, like in 6 digits, go north. Or you can stay here and biatch about too much water all day (at least this year)

Make sure you tell PTO when the season dates are so they don't book your duck hunt during the duck split
I'm with GK because I like salty old dudes.
