When I was a kid in the 60s I still remember an article here and there by varmint callers in Texas and Arizona that called in and killed jaguars...they weren't protected then...would be cool to see them come back!

I'd hate to be a cattle rancher in that area. Beautiful animal

Yes, Very Cool but they will decimate a Deer Herd in no time. Same as Mountain Lions.

Very cool, but the news story seems incorrect, there have been more Jaguar sightings in AZ over the past ten years than just that one. A quick google search has multiple stores about those sightings including the death of a VERY old cat not too long ago. I hope they make a come back

Very interesting as Black02z28 said above I have heard of sightings also and saw several photos taken about 40 years ago of two that were shot in AZ. I doubt el Jefe is out there by himself.

I guess drugs aren't the only thing coming here from the jungles of South America.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

There were around 3 breeding pairs a few years back, macho died, if you do some research theres some cat hunters around there that have treed some and released them. They used to be in south texas as well

Yes, Very Cool but they will decimate a Deer Herd in no time. Same as Mountain Lions. Not near as bad as the wolves they released in NM though
