http://vomkervinshof.com/It isn't Texas, but it isn't far off. I'm working with a dog from this kennel now. He's eight months old and is a hos. He is fun to watch because he is more natural than anything I've dealt with in the past. Retrieves like a pro, caught scent of a rabbit and just went to tracking. No training, just did it. Very excited to see what happens with him in the future.

How much do they get for these dogs? I looked at one of the links and the deposit is $500. What makes them so special? I have never seen one other than on tv.

If you're talking to me, I'm not sure. I just sent a text to the owner to ask. Drahthaars aren't your run of the mill dog and there is a difference between Wirehairs and Drahthaars. The "Americanized" pointing breeds have been bred to run and point upland birds. That's all. Period, end of story. You have the odd man who focuses on retrieving or maybe uses his dog for upland, but that's about it. Drahthaar is German for "Wirehair" just like Kurzhaar is German for Shorthair. These dogs are very easily kept (like alot of Americanized breeds or lines), but have a whole other genre of prey. Americanized dogs go after upland birds and the few go after ducks also. If you get a Euro-lined dog you have a guard dog, fur and feather hunter, a smart animal, etc. I can't think of one versatile trial... they're all tests.

There a huge split in the traits of the breed. I'm sure you've done the research but I was surprised to learn about them. Of course I went with the short hair brethren.
never explain, your friends won't need it and your enemies won't believe it.
