Hunted Chambers Fri, Sat, and Sun. I wanted to post this just to give any of your guys wanting to go down there a heads up. If you are looking for an exotic buck, I would try somewhere else. If you are looking for an exotic doe and hogs, you have a real good chance of filling your package. I had plenty of chances to shoot does and hogs.
Out of a group of 3, there were only 2 axis bucks and 1 black buck spotted. Other than that, the places is loaded with does and hogs. I also learned that the place is for sale and I do not believe that they are really trying to keep the place stocked with exotic bucks.

wish you could have read my post back in december about that place! I wouldnt recomend Maurice Chambers hunting to NOBODY...we were on a white tail hunt only, have been a frequent customer for 6 years. long story short we drive 7 hours down to Sabianal and we cant shot does! Never the less i think we did piss him off came home with 8 animals out of 8 guys! LMAO I dont think he likes people shooting (HIS ANIMALs)and did you notice the big pin behind camp where he is taking all the deer to another ranch???? SO WE THINK!

This was the original post that I was tellling ya about that i posted back in dec
I recently returned from a hunt on the Brush Country Bow Hunting Ranch owned by Maurice Chambers, just outside of Hondo, Tx. We have day lease hunted this ranch for seven years so we are no strangers to Maurice himself; however, during this trip after the third hunt Maurice enformed us that we would be unable to shoot White tail does, but we would be able to shoot exotic does in place of our white tail buck. That would have been fine if we would have been seeing exotics. The white tails were everywhere. The reason we believe we were not able to shoot white tail does was because in the past we have always done well at this ranch. IF we would have known we were not going to be able to shoot white tailed does before the seven hour drive and the $700 dollars to hunt there we would have not gone to begin with, and to top it off Maurice did not tell us this until after our third hunt. Just letting all of you know this so that you don't have the same experience we did. I have been told by many people that Maurice is a business man and cares nothing about getting his customers deer. Guess I didn't realize this until after hunting seven years on his ranch. There were eight guys on this hunt and we did bring home 8 animals. Dont think Maurice expected that, nor did he like it! So if any of you know of a better ranch, Let me know because i will not be returning!
that was my origanal post back in december. you can search the thread and read the reviews. It was titled Bad experince. I think the date was Dec.4
