This is my grandad, he not only taught me everything I know about hunting and fishing. He is also my best friend!!! I took this pic when I was 13. I've heard the story told over and over how he harvested the deer. It never gets old. He's is in his late 70's now and we still hunt together when he is able. The hours I spent with him in the blind or crappie fishing will be memories I have and relive forever. This deer was shot in Dekalb, Tx in the 60's. Believe it or not this was his first buck ever to shoot. Got it with Winchester mod 70 .270 open sights. He still hunts with that gun to this day! I hope yall enjoy the picture. The best deer hunts and fishing trips I have ever had were with this man. He had told me before he was lucky to have a grandson like me. The truth is its the other way around!!! Enjoy the pic.

Wonderful tribute to a great gentleman. He sounds like my Dad who started me hunting at 10 and was my best friend and hunting partner for 50 years until our Lord took him in 1998.You are blessed to have him and never stop honoring him
