Chippewa...for the millionth time ^^^^^^^^^^^ Yup! And if South Texas is as warm as it was here today (79 Degrees, no kidding), you just might need snake boots.
Spartans ask not...how many, but where!

Alright. Alright. What I mean is... Is one style more comfortable than another -- pull on vs zipper back, moccasin toe vs square toe, leather upper vs cordura?

Just got a pair of the waterproof Chips like Sniper's above at the Justin's outlet in Childress for $89.99 as marked, plus another 20% off. Not marked irregular, but had been on the shelf for a while. Them's $260 boots.

I have been wearing a pair of Danner for several seasons.. The leather isn't as good as Chippewa, but they are comfortable and the tops are longer. And I picked them up on sale which was a plus... They are lace up, easy on easy off.

Justins. Without a doubt.
If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

Im from south tx and hunt it all the time. For comfort the rocky boots are like sneakers when i quail hunt and walk alot i wear those. Any other time its my chips. The chips are hands down best made and most durable, but id say pure comfort i give rocky the nod.i will say i took a brand new pair of rockies to colorado for an elk hunt. By the time i hot top of mountain the sole came clean off. I was pissed, but it was a lemon. Ive had 3 pairs of the same rockies, and only that one has failed, but at worst time. Only reason i get new boots is im paranoid the snake protection wears out with use. Ymmv

See Kry226 above Sir Other irregular Chips were running about $105. Mine had just been on the shelf a long time, and had some handling marks, scratches, etc. Of course, they had top grade Chips pretty close to their retail prices too, $249-369.

They are lace up, easy on easy off. I am a quail dog handler, so my boots get quite a workout per season. I have been wearing the same pair of Danners for the past 6 seasons. I find them quite comfortable, and because of my big calves, much easier to get into than pull-on boots. I will not tell you they are still completely waterproof, but I keep them oiled, and they turn water well enough.
